  AS from 10pm I'll be off the air for a day or two (i hope) my poorly pooter has to see a specialist.

  Hurry back Ian. Get it mended soon as. Hope you are managing to stay warm yerself. weather abysmally cold here in downtown Dover, as of course youre aware...would freeze the socks or similar offofa brass monkey!

  up in scotland and across in wales, they will be getting cold weather payments, they are triggered by 7 consecutive days where the temerature has averaged below zero.

  My Winter Fuel Allowance landed in my bank account over night.
  
  I wonder how many use the money to pay for Christmas presents, I do and so do some of my friends as we are on direct debit for fuel bills.

  Yes Howard saw the item about the cold weather payments. That triggers in as you explain there but its only £25. It needs updating now as the cost of fuel has left it well behind.
  
  The costs of gas and electricity have gone up this week on the international markets because of the demand, sure to be passed through to us lowly proletariat in due course.

  I think I am safe with this one Paul as we direct debit payers pay more in the off peak months, I know lots do pay their quarterly bill with it.
