Spectator critic Lloyd Evans slams Canterbury and likens Cathedral to ‘crippled old man’

(Like Lloyd I would prefer to give to the beggar who might invest in hard alcohol rather than the CofE who would waste it on 'slavery reparations'.)

Canterbury looks very sad and run down. Too many fast food shops and very little else- sorry I almost forgot about the vape shops, nail bars and mobile phone repair places!
The charm of the place has been lost. Time to do something about the old Nasons and Debenhams buildings. I know the developments are stalled because of the Stodmarsh lakes issues but it’s been a problem now for a long time.
Sadly couldn’t read the Spectator column because I don’t have a subscription
