HOWARD;
Its so unusual for us to differ, and one this i continue to hold a different to yourelf.
maybe some more information may help to convince you(although i feel you are set on a view on this one)
Some years ago D D C went for the very scheme you say, althoug when they went to public consultation on the scheme(hich wasnt a great scheme anyway) it was rejected by persons living in the area(clarendon street) who turned up in droves.
Since this time over many years the council looked for solutions, but could never please all.
so what can be done???
iin my view(as a pleb )
1; there is no money as mr watkins keeps reminding us to compulsary purchase
peoples back gardens in clarendon place
2; double yellow lines is a non starter as where would the cars go?
3; any scheme such as these would be rejected by those living in the area
4; the part parting on the pavement allow the bus to keep running, to not
partly park on the pavement would stop the bus service
5; none of the agencies(including kcc) or the emergency services are wanting
to push for any new scheme.
this is a brief overview of my view as a pleb
of course i wonder what our ward cllrs think the way forward is????
