I am unable to comment about school information as we did not have such things as "incentivisation" when I or my children were at school.
I laughed at the usual self righteous comment above about self inflicted, what about the cost to the NHS from sports injuries but of course that is a healthy? cost so it is ok.
I am one of those who is honest enough to admit they are obese and who has fought the flab since I was young. I blame my mother and father entirely as I was made to sit at the table and clear my plate before I could leave that table even though I was no longer hungry, now I eat everything put in front of me and seldom have that full feel even after a large meal.
I feel the newest witch hunt is about the overweight, we have already had the smokers and the drinkers. Not all of us who are overweight are an unnecessary drain on the NHS as I have not voluntarily seen my doctor for years, he calls me in for a 6 monthly check-up purely because of my age.
