  We saw Obama on television last night as he came out to meet the worlds media. Gone is the beaming smile and the upbeat persona, replaced now with a crumpled demeanour, a shadow of his former self. Defeated deflated and disenfranchised. Other presidents have come back from a drubbing before and went on to survive and rally but I somehow doubt if Obama can manage it. When the popularity bubble bursts there is nothing left. And he rode along on a ticket of popularity.
  
  However what is even more disturbing than Obama's sudden fall, is the equally sudden meteoric rise of these new right wing movements sweeping America...the GOPs and the Tea Party movements are stunningly alarming, their self belief and righteousness makes one baulk at what they might be capable of. They believe or appear to believe that God has given them the right to rule to world. Frightening.
  
  We have seen the US lurch to the right before but this is one heck of a lurch to the right this time, and is more than a tad scary for the rest of mankind.
