Normally we get fireworks on the actual day then on the Saturday, thankfully it falls on a Saturday this year.

A lot worse when I lived in Ilford Terry with Jewish new year, Diwali and Guy Fawkes close together plus Muslims just like having them at a family event all year round.

I have never been a fireworks hater but I would willingly have throttled the noisy group who let them off just before 1.00 last night, thoughtless selfish barstewards.

So much for animals being terrified of the fireworks, they have been going off like mad all evening and I ave opened both front and back doors regularly to let the cat in. Finally at 10 pm she strolls in has her grub and a quick wash and brush up and is out again 15 minutes later. I have had two dogs a Lhasa Apso that took no notice and a mentally challenged Springer Spaniel that tried to catch them.

I am convinced that the majority of animals would fine if only their owners did not fuss about them as animals pick up on this sort of thing. In all my years of having dogs and cats we have never had a problem with any of them.

Completely agree Jan, though of course there are always exceptions.
Our Jack was trying to chase the rockets as they launched between trying to dig out a rabbit burrow, ignoring the rest of the fireworks and pulling logs off the fire, until the burgers and hot dogs came out, then he was the most attentive well behaved dog imaginable!
