15:0582425Excuse the typo on the title: should be NOW not, not....can't edit it.
Most of what I have seen on this subject has not exactly been a massive surprise and not exactly a bombshell though the fact of the revelations is damaging to international relations.
The latest I have read though is very interesting....
North Korea has sold long range missiles to the Iranian madmen bringing not only Tel Aviv within range but Moscow and Berlin as well. This shows why we need the missile shield as was recently revealed. It also demonstrates why Iran must never be allowed to get a nuclear bomb.
We also find that Saudi Arabia urged the USA to bomb Iran. Particularly interesting because that aligns at least one Arab country with the Israelis.
One bit of good news is that China, a long time supporter of North Korea, has grown tired of its one-time satellite and the irrationality of its leader. This opens up all kinds of possibilities for dealing with N. Korea. The Chinese have even indicated that they would not object to a unified Korea and they doubt that the N. Korean regime will survive the death of its present leader.
Ah, but not all is good. China is particularly embarrassed by these revelations that it would rather be kept private. Consequently their relations with the USA have been damaged and that is not good news for us at all...
The world seems to get more dangerous all the time.

16:4582441most people have been saying for years now that if we need a war, then an invasion of iran is the one.
neither iraq or afghanistan have posed as much of a threat.

16:5582447Some further qualification is needed re China's suggested abandonement of North Korea. Many experts have doubted this on the radio today. After all these particular leaks re China are based as I understand it on American interpretations of coversations being sent home to the US. Some Chinese might favour ditching North Korea but whether it is politbeurau policy is something else.
There is no doubt North Korea is a crazy state, shelling at will when they feel like it. South Korea want to fight back, they have the appetite,. But as N Korea have 'the bomb' any fight could be very bad news.
AS an aside...Its extraordinary watching the marching prowess of the North Koreans, must be the best in the world at this marching parading thing. Never seen anything like it. Clockwork humans.

17:2082449The N Koreans marching are truly scary - they demonstrate perfectly what fear can do to a nation.

17:3682456Jimmy, there are far more subtle ways of insulting people on an internet forum than calling them stupid. Didn't Mummy teach you anything?
