Ah yes indeed Norman Wisdom was very good in his day, but very much of his day..when the world was a simpler place, not long after the war. Twas terrificly entertaining low budget stuff...Pitkin and Mr Grimsdale...I remember em all well. Norman was Pitkin of course.
Remember the one where he was mistaken for a nazi officer, great stuff. While working in France behind the lines as a navvy..he wonders in to the nearby village which shock horror is in the control of the Germans with the resulting mayhem. Poor oul Pitkin, he didnt have a great deal of success getting the girl!
In recent years Norman Wisdom was often overlooked and dismissed by newspapers such as the daily mail as a bad joke, but in his era he was very good indeed.
