  Bergerac has now left Midsomer and his new replacement hit our screens last night..and he wasnt bad either when you consider he had big boots to fill.
  
  Interesting one about civilian investigators. It probably has more to do with the paperwork department rather than frontline policing. However it is unlikely that we will be seeing anything like this on the mainland, as thousands and thousands of backup staff are being discarded in the swingeing cuts.
