Non job of the week
I see this one in the Canterbury gazette
Hr manager starting at £ 35.408 per Annam ,nearly £700 a week
Talk about benefit cuts,
The benefits for this one are generous pension, life assurance scheme, what ever that is ?
Sports hall and gym ,generous holiday allowances
Now this is the rub , the lucky s... only got to do 37 hours a week
Yes it's the Public sector
, Canterbury but there all at it
2 years in to a Tory government and nothings changed,
This job could have been filled 45 hour week no pension no perks ,and they would have been queueing up for it

They cannot expect to keep all these utopian working condition and perks,
And still keep pumping up the taxs

Those are the perks that you get from a decent employer of the size that needs a HR manager.
And it seems a bit low to me so must be in the public sector, I know of one who got more than that as a rise when headhunted by a competitor in the private sector.

What company was that ray ?
It's the old middleclass mindset ray ,they all think there all worth big bucks
It's only the working class that deserve peanuts

Keith, it could be one of many companies. It's the marketplace, people being paid what they are worth to their employers (and no, Barry didn't prompt me!)

so ray
So would you agree ray that these jobs should be advertised so that suitable applicants can bid for the wages and perks, that they would do the job for ?
Or are you advocating a closed shop of fixed pricing,
these jobs having yet to be exposed to the true eu market
This is the norm in the job shops, they just say above minim wage ,
maybe a suitable workers from Poland would do it for £300 a week ,

Keith,
This link is presumably to the details of the job you mention, advertised openly on the college website for anyone suitably qualified to apply -
http://www.cant-col.ac.uk/job-vacancies/Human%20Resources%20Manager%20Updated%20%2811%2064%29.pdf
Look at the detail and then tell me if you still think a suitably qualified worker from Poland (or anywhere) would want do it for a minimum wage.

Look at the detail ray it says above minimum wage in the job shop .
And yes I think lots of these job could be dun by cheaper workers , that would stick the cat amongst the pidgins .
If its ok for EU workers to under cut wages at the bottom then it must be ok at the top
Apparently they are ok to work over 37 hours a week
The jobs have set money ray, this is the bit I am on about , no room for savings for the taxpayers ,not a true market

Obviously ray and barryw been chatting lol
Whilst many of us may have a problem with all these high wages, at the same time those at the bottom continue to get shafted
maybe thats some of the problem

Keith, just trying to point out reality.
It's not a non-job, it's a serious job requiring qualifications, experience and ability from an employer that offers decent working conditions, what's the problem with that other than it's not what all employers offer?

Yes keith s
But those at the bottom are ignored by the 3 big party's, or should I say 2 half.
The majority of the middle class are happy to reward themselves with big money.
And celebrate them at the button being s....all over
I was taking to a man working for one of the big glasshouse growers.
He is on something called an agricultural contract,
He used to get paid a 30min tea brake, when the minim wage went up they renewed the contracts for all workers
And stopped the tea brake money.
Life in the real world of the free market, there all EU workers so no complaints

actually it is not just minimum wage workers that are being hit by eu immigration, tradesman like electricians, plumbers and carpenters are being undercut for work.

Ray
Meany people have qualifications 7 year are the norm for tradesmen to be proficient
We have all been exposed to the open markets unlike the managers in the public sector
7 years ago I could get £1200 to £1000 every week admittedly 10 to 12 hours a day
I am lucky if I can get 7 to 8 to day
Admitted I cannot do the big contracts because of bad health ,but the market has suffered from EU labour amongst the working class only, especially amongst the wet trades
These cuts would be totally unexcitable amongst them that opened the floodgates and the protected classes.
That's reality ray.
