Had an electric failure today from 11.00-18.00. Unable to rectify myself at first, but after several phone calls to my free emergency call out cover people, I wound up doing it myself, though it was just by chance I decided to unscrew the isolation box which had been changed round last year by Seeboard. Why, I don`t know, but inside was the old style fuse wire which I still had up in the loft. Anyway, the turkey wound up half done along with the roasties, and we had prawn cocktail, pork pies and sandwiches for Christmas dinner. Luckily we have gas rings so could do a brew in the pan. The turkey is now in the fridge pending some expert advice as to whether it can be put back into the oven for cooking. Any expert opinions out there? P.S. My emergency cover states a response within the hour. 18.45 they came back to me, but being Christmas Day, I shouldn`t be too angry. P.P.S. Hope you all had a great day though, and we`re making up for our bad day now in the evening.
