Just had an early morning stroll along the prom and noticed signs saying that because of water quality problems, swimming and similar activities are banned in Dover Harbour.

And nothing to do with the River Dour (high historic e.Coli) entering harbour via new 'marina'?

e.Coli is a nasty business, dangerous.... having had it (!) i'd not wish it on anyone..... p.s avoid the biryani :)

Or perhaps it’s something to do with that cruise ship that’s been in the harbour for months?

Are there any updates on this rather Draconian move? To my knowledge, the Harbour has never been closed off like this...Very few details are being given....
This is affecting a lot of people for different reasons. Taking everything as a whole, there are many activities which have been stopped.
This facility of the Harbour and all that goes with it has always been accessible.
I would have thought the Dover Harbour Board could make the information more opaque.
