A HGV has come down into the close could not back out again I went out to try and help and I was talking to the co-driver about how we was going to get his mate out.
But without waiting the driver move off backwards in the homes car park and in turning hit one car pushing it into the other car which was long side it one of them is a right off.
We have now been waiting over 1hour for the police to get here but we are still waiting so we will not be going back to bed tonight .
Will have to back him into the clear way which is the turning bay for H.G.V. long side my home but nothing is going to happen till the police get here.
Now 0445 and still waiting two hours now and they are still not here the lorry has a freezer unit on the back so he can not turn it off (Great)WELL it is still here no police but the lorry did move so they have now put a recovery van with all its lights flashing behind it ,maybe he was trying to make a run for it ,but he is not going anywhere all fun and no sleep.

Should be fun soon some of the day workers will be turning up ,and the home also have vans and a lorry delivering soon in the mean time we are all waiting for the law I think.
At last it is on the move must get outside to see it does not end up in my garden still no law.
Great fun the polish lorry driver could not get it out so now the recovery van driver as taken over he is backing it right out of the close what happens at the top I do not know.
Already a lorry took out the lamp post out last week but this is my last report on it as long as it does not come back down.

If no-one was injured and the driver was still on the scene then the police wouldn't be interested, it's a civil matter between the owners of the vehicles involved.

He was probably lost Howard, not sure why the Police would not attend if access was blocked, what would happen if the fire brigade or ambulance service were required to attend and could not get past?

We have a real problem with large lorries coming through the village as they miss the directions to Coombe Valley. The railway bridge at Coombe Valley needs to be raised or the road lowered so the lorries can go that way.

The lorry was on its way to a town near London but nat/sav took him into River .
Yes the police should have come. The Ambulance is always going to the home 24/7 but after moving the lorry over I think they could have got one in.The polish driver was not that good and could not get it back out of the close but as I said the recovery driver was good and it did not take him long to back it all the way out.

If the driver could not back the lorry out he should not be driving on our roads.

I think he just let it all get to him he was very upset about it so was his mate they were made a cup of tea by the staff of the home and the car owners did not shout or anything so all round it went off good .

I was once hit by a Hungarian HGV while I was stationary in a jam at jct 5 of the M25. The police did attend that one but they were only interested in breathalysing us both. My insurer wanted me to claim on my policy (even though the other driver had admitted liability) but I refused as I had paid the extra premium for legal costs cover. To cut a long story short, it was over a year before we got reimbursed through the courts by the foreign insurer and a further year before Norwich Union reinstated my no-claim discount with back value, that only after more legal action. I hope the owners of the cars damaged in this incident have details of the truck's insurance, otherwise they may also face the loss of their no-claims discount if they claim on their own policies.
