12:2170272Today on the TV Nick Price made it clear on conservative thinking.
He wants to see;
At next general election;
Where tories are strong, lib dems not to stand a candidate
Where Lib Dems strong Tories won't stand a candidate.
Not sure how this will go down with either local parties,
But the cats out of the bag,
Vote tory or lib dem and thats wot u get
So those people in the strong tory wards wanting to vote lib dem, wont get that opportunity.

12:3270273It is his suggestion, an unknown backbencher. We shall see.

17:2270305SID;
What you will find is rumours start until it all gains momentum
you will note barryw didnt deny it.
Yet before the last election he was slagging off labour and lib dems when he thought this might happen.
doub le standards?

17:5570329Nope, just that BarryW sits hard to the right of the Tories as you sit hard to the left of Labour. Sadly, it means that sometimes you both come across as just too radical and/or blinkered. That makes middle of the road, level playing field types, like me, turn off and not give due credence to some of your opinions.

18:0670337Keith A backbencher expressed his view - what can be denied, that he did not say what he said, well he did say it so what?
He is an unknown backbencer expressing a view.
Oh, of course, I forgot, you are used to Labour politics with all that central control that prevents backbenchers expressing a view that is not endorsed by the leadership (big scandal if anyone go off-message) - well the Tories are different, the party of the individual measn that the backbencher can say this whether the leadership agree ot not.
Personally I want an overall Conservative majority after the next election in 5 years so would prefer not to have an electoral pact.
But, if such a pact were necessary, due to the coalition taking the blame for the tough decisions made to correct Labour's mess, then so be it. It is vital that electorate are not fooled into putting back into power the incompetents to screw thing up again. It will take 10 years plus to correct Labour's many failings and they do not deserve ever to get power again.

18:2570346seems to me that the back bencher shot his mouth off beacuse he has seen the prime minister doing the same thing.
the idea he espoused was ludicrous and will be the subject of mass dissaproval among blue and yellow activists.

20:0570362Actually Howard - if such a deal is the price we pay for keeping Labour in the wilderness then it is one worth paying. That, I believe will be the view taken by the majority of Conservatives, even if no such deal is preferred.
The 'shooting your mouth off' comment is just silly Howard.

20:5970379not much of an argument there barry, calling a post silly is not a rational reply.
boy dave has shot his mouth off twice recently, the americans winning the second world war and accusing pakistan of harbouring terrorists while he was in india.
those were not comments from the heart, they were simply designed to pander to an audience.

21:2370391The little message missing here, is prior to the last general election
when a back bencher did the same as this one has done
barryw was on here within mins shouted about it, and how it would be.
Here we are now with the boot on the other foot, and our barry is now saying,,,,,,,,,,, if we can keep labour out its a price wort paying...
As I say double standards

06:5770485Different issue - Keith.
We are talking about Labour - the Party of repeated failure that should not be allowed to run a whelk stall let alone the country.
Howard - not much of a reply because it was not much of a comment worthy of a reply. DC after all was correct (although he said 1940 meaning 1940's in respect of the war)

10:2470517Your view barryw

11:0270524Sorry Keith, I don't see anywhere that Barry agrees he has double standards.
You obviously have a thing about making stuff up, well you would, you support the Labour Party.
