Yes yet one more shop going on my birthday to,I went in to see about our plane tickets this morning only to be told that Thomas Cooks is going and my Tickets will be going to Deal that is where they moving to.Come on D.D.C. you have to do try harder to keep our shops there will not be nothing left by the end of the year.

there is nothing any council can do to keep shops open especially in the travel sector with so many booking online.
the one in market square closed and i am surprised this latest one has lasted as long as it has.

Dover Express article says that the Dover store is nearing the end of its lease so that could be the reason they chose to close the Dover store rather than the Deal, Folkestone or Hythe ones.

I agree that it has nothing to do with DDC and more to do with internet bookings. I'm sure that most holidays and/or flights, are booked on-line.
The end of the lease would also played a big part.

No company can go on sustaining losses for ever without taking drastic action. Closing loss-making branches is an obvious step as more and more bookings go via the internet.
