  Ah, if it comes to that, then indeed, the DE has been a superb historical record for what we do, and there are some things we simply wouldn't have known had it not been for the reporting.
  
  So in my ideal world, I'd have a return to the detailed reporting of decades ago, along with all the obituaries, which have been invaluable, and announcements. The detailed reporting isn't just useful, but quite an insight into then prevailing morality ... and rather fun too - one can just hear the world-weary sighs in some of the verbatim reports.
