The post you are reporting:
now kathy
to be fair i'm like peter and have a very biased view on the express sadly for differing reasons but none the less like a lot of others stopped buying the paper some years ago because of this.
You probably have no power to change the format()i don't know) but i will again highlight the issues, i dont expect any changes but welcome feedback or others views may well be addressed will watch the thread with interest.
years ago your lovely editir(mr findley) ran a campaign against the labour party(which was fair enough) but wasn't consistent with other parties thus showed a bias
which is not good for supposed non political community paper.
it went as far as trying to get a story on an individual by contacting his wife, son in law, mother in law, chasing him, and others.
I'm unsure if he thought the express could be re modelled to be like the sun where i understand he has been in employment, but the COMMUNITY bit of the paper got lost in his years long campaign against some individuals.
On this forum, and in the local area I try to encourage people to be involved in the community, but putting yourself in the spotlight put people off when they saw how mr findley acted.
I also personally hd mr findley and his journalist's chase me(as far away as chester!!!!) to try to ge a story on me, taking photo's everywhere i went
and even 5 years or more of being out of politics still noticed a dubris article of being out for a meal with the wife(who's realy interested????)
For me the DUBRIS bit became far to personal and the sooner it is scrapped the better.
when you look at people like jennie morgan an indy cllr then not over controvesial announcing she wont buy the express because of the disgusting attacks you can see the express lost its way.
whilst its correct the paper could report on local politics it should be a balanced view point.
I supported an indiviual in the express some years ago thus was then hounded for years after.
the express was one reason for my l;eaving local politics so i suppose mr findley will happy with that.
my own view is that the paper needs to be a COMMUNITY paper and not model itself on the sun.
so many people are switched off by these former methods.
more local stories,
as others have said a local office with local reporters does make a difference to get an up to date story, but obviously there are costs to this.
kathy i realise you are only the messenger so i apologise in advance as this is no dig at yourself as i'm sure you try hard to make it the paper everyone would like to see.
