    The body of a man thought to be a former Gurkha has been found in an alleyway today, KentOnline can reveal.

    Early reports suggest he died of knife wounds behind Rocheforts Newsagents in Cheriton, Folkestone.

    It is understood he may have taken his own life in front of several people.

    Police were called to the incident in Marler Road this afternoon.

    The area is cordoned off and forensics officers are scouring the scene for clues.

    Local resident Stuart Peet told KentOnline: "I'm not sure on what has happened but Marler Road is currently cordoned off with an area behind the high street shops screened with white sheets."
