  I have just checked this .A councillor I worked with on the Regional Housing Board has been granted an OBE .Amanda Cottral ,I think that is the spelling from Visit Kent has also been given an Honour .

  Oh yes I know Amanda Cottral...when I say know I mean I met her a few times and a very nice lady. She was as I understand it the former High Sheriff of Kent. There are some pictures of her in All Recent Features if anyone wants to trawl through there. In recent times she is top dog in Visit Kent which as you can surmise from the title, encourage visitors worldwide to visit us here in the lil ol garden of England.

  Really please to see that Amanda Cottral has been honoured a very hard working lady for kent, meet the lady many times in my Mayoral term, when yes she was indeed High Sheriff of kent.

  Not local but someone who has helped so many of us out in this forecasted cold winter, Centrica chairman Roger Carr. (owners of British Gas).
  
  A 7% increase, things have probably hit him hard though, after all 'we are all in this together'. I hope he knows that VAT is going up!

  maybe mr carr should take the advice that one of his cohorts dished out to us last winter and put an extra jumper on to avoid dying of hypothermia.
  
  i wont be able to sleep now worrying about mr carr and whether he will be able to pay his gas bill.
