Just to let you know that the new website for our small group is up and running. In it you will find lots of information and 2012 tour dates relating to the Redoubt and Shaft.

All credit to Barry Stewart for putting this together. Howard, could we add this to the DF Links page please?

Well done!
We have the old WHPS link, so I'll alter the address on the DWMP website so that the WHPS link goes to the new website. Can you put a link for The Dover War Memorial Project on the WHPS site please?

That is an excellent website. The photos are superb, I especially like the atmospheric indoor ones.
I am sure this will boost interest, and visitors, and give greater profile to the whole project too.

Glad you all like it. I'll pass on the message to those who put it together. (I think my sole contribution was one paragraph!) Thanks too for posting the link Paul.
It's going to be a busy year for us little band of volunteers - starting with the Grand Shaft Challenge on April 7th. We've got an early photo-call for the girls this weekend so I hope the weather holds off. They are practicing their legs and hearts out at the moment and are doing really well. I think they might actually do it - it'll be the most remarkable ascent of The Grand Shaft since Mr Leith from Walmer rode up it on a horse for a bet in 1812!

I'm sure Mr Leith must have started off at the Grand Shaft Inn before that adventure !!
Been nice knowing you :)

i had read about that, hadn't realised it had reached its bicentenary.
had to be someone from walmer that done something like that.
