Inside it's tiled with lots of stainless steel. Another take-away?

I bought my first camera at that shop, it was slightly odd watching the sign being revealed again when they were working on it.

Indeed Neil, I will always remember it as a camera shop and a good one at that. They always had an interesting window display of all sorts of camera equipment. I remember PaulB in particular always looking at their displays and popping in for all sorts of things. Pity we don't have specialist shops of that ilk anymore, everything seems to be under an umbrella of supermarkets and Argos type stores these days.

forget the name of the chap that ran it, always cheerful and helpful.
i bought something in there about a week before he died and his wife announced soon after that the day before he had the fatal heart attack he had achieved his lifetime ambition of getting a hole in one at golf.

It was Joe Court. His photographer had the surname of Jones, I'm sorry but I can't remember his first name. He took our wedding pictures. Equally, I can't remember Joe's wife's name. BarryW should know, they were both prominent in CofC.

Addendum - Just remembered, it was Pat Court. Their first shop was in the High Street just down from Tower Hamlets where that sort of dress shop is now!

Terry, that was Ron Jones, took our wedding photos too!
He's still active in Gateway Camera Club - through Ron the whole club got invited to a barbecue at the Courts' place in Shepherdswell, biggest barbie I've ever seen!

Like Terry just said!
The name on the shopfront is E Court, wonder was that Joe's first name that he didn't like or a previous Court?

I was told that Joe was his second name, he didn't like his first. But you can bet your boots it wasn't Endeavour!
Prompted by the turn of events I dug out my wedding photos. I wish I hadn't, it was a different world then.

Pat Court was a great Lady and worked hard for Dover in her time.
I wish the new people well, but wished it was something different than an eaterie/take-away.
