What is it the ad-men say:"Pull it up the pole and see if it catches the breeze."?
"The newspaper has seen graphs produced by the Treasury's Office for Budget Responsibility which show that revenues from fuel duty will almost halve by 2030."
...I too saw a graph once.
Is it 'Tolls' or a 'Black-box recorder'?
There may be more employment opportunities with the former. (and shares in Uniform manufacturers would go up and the Indigo futures market would get a boost also.)
What happened to the idea of adding road-tax to the cost of petrol?
Ignorance is bliss, bliss is happiness, I am happy...to draw your attention to the possible connectivity in the foregoing.

putting it on the price of petrol/diesel always seems the logical and fairest way of collecting road tax.

I agree with that Mr Tom,but they do not seem to like that one,but by doing it the cost could do even higher than need to and we will have no way of finding out the true cost of a Lte of petrol.
