  Nigel please do not draw comparisons between Canterbury and Dover, since the second world war Canterbury City Centre has been developed twice and now has most of the major shopping chains as well as a selection of smaller shops. They have a good selection of pubs offering snacks and light meals, not the sort we have with swearing and fag ends being flicked at you when you sit outside. You have it wrong, we should be paying people to come to Dover not charge them.
  I've lived in Dover for forty years and although I feel passionately about the town and its people I haven't seen a great deal of change.
