  They seem determined to kill off the motorised vehicle as the costs of maintaining same goes ever higher. Swingeing parking charges and no escape is killing off places like central Dover. There should be areas where you can dally, stop and pick up a newspaper, or post a letter and so on but now its not possible. So the cost of the newspaper becomes the cost of parking plus the newspaper. There is something wrong with the core philosophy on all this. Its self defeating in the longer run.
  
  Jacqui yes I think on the parking ticket, as far as I remember, there is a built in opportunity to appeal...but whether it ever works....
