The sale of alcohol early morning is not a black and white issue. For people who predominantly work nights consider our breakfast time as early evening. The shop at the junction of Castle St and Russell St have been selling alcohol early morning to people coming home from the docks for some time with no problems. I seem to remember the Co-op trying for an early morning licence to cater for the same trade a few years back.
The proposed one in the Folkestone Rd is a different issue as there is no big employer close by that operates shift systems so one may conclude that someone collecting their methadone would like to wash it down with something strong. The knock on effect could well be more anti social behaviour.
