In time for the early May Bank Holiday weekend DHB have managed to open the new Marina Pier for public access as well as vehicular and pedestrian traffic across the Wellington Navigation Channel & Lock Cut once again linking Marine Parade and the Esplanade with Union Street.
At present there is no seating along the length of the pier the shelter at the end being the only sitting area.
The new marina pontoon are mostly in place.
The Lock and Navigation Channel to Wellington Dock has yet to be completed but the Lock Gates have now been installed and we wait to learn of the installation of the operating equipment.
