certainly a strange geezer, but passionate for football and helping others, but one of his down falls(or maybe talents?) was his direct talking.
Running a club locally I met with Neville to try to get funds for a very good project to engage with kids locally.
Knowing his distrust of authority/and direct talking, i said maybe best if he sat back a bit and hopefully we would achieve his aim.
it lasted only about a minute before he opened up giving the officers a piece of his mind lol
he certainly does not lack passion and belief in achieving and gives 100%

the best shot stopper i have ever seen, not the most technically correct keeper but was almost half the team during the rise of everton under howard kendall.

Big Nev was always an education to talk to when I was at the 'Mercury'. Even if getting everything down in my notebook was a major challenge.
He was harshly treated at Dover at a club riven by boardroom infighting and financial meltdown. Came across as very genuine and quite humble and approachable considering the heights he scaled in his career.
Having also stood behind a goal he was keeping in for Everton, I can appreciate what an absolute rock of a presence he was between the sticks. Norwich could have played all day and night and not beaten him.
