14:4691826I was going to post this on the home page but thought it would be easier to follow any discussion here.
If there are going to be changes to the carpark I wondered what you all might think about the car exit being changed to Crafford Street. With so many cars now coming out of the carpark, far more than when the Co-Op were there, as a pedestrian it is awful trying to cross the road from Crafford Street.

22:3791897I see nobody is interested in the plight of us pedestrians, typical,

, so I will put it another way cars will find it easier to get out of the carpark.

00:2191902The only change planned is the loss of four spaces to make way for a side extension to Netto's. The footpath around the side will remain and a cycle stand will be put in.
Politics, it seems to me, for years, or all too long, has been concerned with right or left instead of right or wrong.

10:2391928Jan I do agree with you mainly, when I walk in this area it is a nightmare trying to get across the entrance to Netto's along Maison Dieu Road,it is even harder trying to cycle along there and down Dour St because you have to watch for cars going into Netto's and cars coming out of there as well as traffic going down Maison Dieu Road.I do think it would be easier to have the one entrance on Crafford St.
If you knew what I know,we would both be in trouble!

11:0991936I think it sounds a good idea in principle, but might it slow the traffic down as it goes in and out of the carpark, in that it would create a sort of chicane?

15:2091967I am not sure what you mean Diana, the cars already have to drive past my proposed exit area to get out of the carpark.
It must have been an entrance or exit to the old engineering works at some time as the kerb in that area is already dropped, the area I am talking about is where pedestrians walk inbetween the bushes over the earth and jump down the small retaining wall.
I know the residents of narrow Albert Road would be grateful as there would be a lot less traffic, cars would have to turn left up Park Avenue instead.

17:2191983The kerb is dropped probably because it was the entrance to the Co-Op dairy. Blimey, that was a whole lifetime away.
