I do not know Howard,as for the planning dept,I do not hold out much hope,I hope the Volunteer Centre get more volunteers, they do some very good work, oneof the things they do are Healthwalks they work with other organisations looking for Volunteers ,like Support Groups S.O.S, Children ,Multiple Sclerosis Society, and many many mre the list is very long.
Also the D.D.C. Community Safety Partnership have alot more organisations with them, and they do work well with supporting the public of all ages etc.But the very best one I found was the pack of playing cards they were giving out free.
It is a Pk of playing cards just like any you can buy ,but each card as it own advice on ALCOHOL ABUSE.
Like "Drink debt? How much has it cost you?or If you pass out through alcohol abuse, you could choke on your own vomit.
all 52 cards have a saying like that on them with one having the N.H.S. Direct-24 hour health advice which is 0845-4647.
www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk. I found this pk of playing cards very good and helpfull lots of help tel numbers, and you can keep it in your pocket or car,and just pull it out if you need it.
