My son tells me that complaints about on-line bullying (on Facebook for example) have increased and form quite a large part of their workload (police), although unfortunately there is little they can do but pay a visit to the alleged guilty party.
Why people think that being downright threatening or unpleasant to people in the public eye is acceptable I do not know. There were even people saying that the journalist who was spoken of as needing to be stoned to death, should just have accepted it and not felt threatened.
It is the coward's way to write something down for everyone to see that you would not dream of saying face to face.
