I don't know about the health side of ready-meals, but both Sainsbury's and Tesco's and I'm sure Morrisons sell them too, but you can buy complete ready-meals for £1.50 to £2.00 each - meat and veg. included.
There's English, Chinese and Indian dishes to choose from.
So no buying the individual meat, or veg, no peeling the pots. or boiling/steaming the other vegetables, or making up the gravy, it's all there. Cheap as chips as they say.
No idea about flavour or goodness though, but they are there and they are cheap.
