Ok one for all the clever bird people on Doverforum, any clues as to what this little guy I came across yesterday could be? Thanks.

I would guess it is a young male blackbird, not yet got all its black feathers ??

looks a bit thrushy to me......? Sadly there are many fewer thrushes around now than there used to be.

It looks odd, has possibly been rejected by the colony it came from for wearing the wrong feathers

The first is a young blackbird, if it looks a bit like a thrush it is because it is a thursh! Only we Brits call them blackbirds, others call them blackthrush or european thrush. Pause while I look up bird 2................Back again! My money is that no2 is a garden warbler, dull to look at but a treat to listen to!

We find our local young blackbirds turn gradually black from the tail upwards. Hard to identify them as either blackbirds or thrushes unless you know the individuals.
