  Staines is to change it's name in an attempt to break links with Ali G - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-18118309
  
  I would have thought a complete change to get away from an association with embarrassing marks on your clothes would have been better.
  
  For a bit of fun, any suggestions for a name change for Dover to uniquely identify the town from the numerous duplicate Dovers around the world?

  Quite right Kath. There IS only one Dover and all know where that one is situated. I doubt whether any of the other, later Dovers would dream of losing their connection to the original. Although, Nude-Dover does have a certain ring to it.

  I've just had a look at the number of the Dovers available on the weather widget on my PC- 31 in the US, 2 in Australia, 2 in Jamaica, 1 in South Africa, 1 in Zimbabwe and 1 in Canada. Nice to know so many of our wayfaring ancestors wanted to be reminded of home but it would be nice to be unique.
