Mystry aircraft.

  twice this week I have seen a mystry aircraft,once flying towards Folkestone and then this evening flying back towards manston.a twin engine job with twin wings at the back.to small for a Lancaster [4 props],did any one see it fly over by chance.

  Probably one of the aircraft taking part in the air show over the weekend at Shoreham in Sussex. It sounds like the type that used to be used for military parachute drops in the 50's and 60's (or earlier)!

  Similar in appearance Peter but the argosy is a 4 engined transport aircraft and Brian said it only had 2 engines. It will be interesting to know what it actually is. .

  Yes saw it yesterday about 18:20 flying near port. Made a distinctive sound like the Lancaster but not as loud. Was a brown/rusty old fashioned colour too.

  A B25 Mitchell flew over on Friday - I think Brian's description of 'twin wings" has confused the situation.

  that one looks like it paul,but didn't see/notice any turrets on it though.the twin wings I was referring to is like the one in your link.

  I heard a large propeller plane pass over yesterday and dashing to the window was just it time to see a twin tail fin aircraft disappearing over the Western Heights.
  
  It does indeed sound as though it was the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historic Flight's B-25 Mitchell bomber, seen below at the Manston Air Show.

  Confirmed. Some photos have now been posted on Facebook taken from the rear gun turret as the B-25 flew over Dover harbour.
