Well we was also told there will be ground rules we must follow but will be told what they are when we get to where we are going,But from today you will not wear a uniform but civilian clothes which will be given out to you and you do not call any officer sir or rank of a n.c.o. You are going up to Glasgow in Scotland by a troop train,I even think it was a steam one ,there will be over 1000mengoing, you lot will be in the end carriage with a ration army pack each ,you will not mix with the other troops and stay in your carriage till you are told to leave. This is going to be great fun for us no officer to tell us what to do or call sir,no uniform to take with us "O BOY HOW WRONG CAN YOU GET ABOUT SOME THING.!
It took the train a very long time to get to Scotland it was stopping on the way up to pick up more troops etc .Well at last we did get there we had to wait till all the troops got off the train and move off in bus,s and lorrys where to I still do not know well it came to our turn we was told we was going to stay in Glasgow for the next 24 hrs staying in a salvation army hall sleeping on the floor and to eat our 24hr pks of food.
