  I was marched back into his office.
  "Pte Matcham I have been reading your army records and I think you have had a raw deal in some ways,so this time I am going to give you a less punishment then I should.
  You are going to get seven days CB (Jankers<) and find £1 ,and start to think before you act"

  Well that was a big let off for me.
  Most of the two Regiments about 2000 men could not go out anyway because we was square bashing about 10 hours a day getting ready for the Amalgamation.
  I was to stay and march with C company.
  It was only about two weeks from the big day but I was in pain again with my back and legs, so much just had to go back to the M O.(Dr)
  In that time in Shorncliffe there was a m/hospital I was kept in there for two days and they were very good ,they done a lot of tests on my back and legs put pins in my legs ,I had the works done on me.
  I was back into the hospital office and told by the head MO that they cannot still find what is wrong ,but they do know that I was not try to pull the wool over their eyes just to get off the big parade or even out of the army.
