  I was getting woke up by the duty guard each night about 0200hrs they would put the light on and at times I was told to dress in my best gear then made to get undress and back to bed.
  I think I will stop there about my time in the nick there is more to tell but not at this time.
  after the 14days was up I was told to pack all my kit again and report to the CSM of C company.
  After finding out where c company was I march to the office of the C,S,M, and went in and he was standing there waiting for me.
  "Well Matcham I see we have your company back again for short time. "Yes sir"
  He went on to tell me that like all the other company,s C company was getting ready for the very big Amalgamation parade to mark the formation of The Queens Own Buffs .The Royal Kent Regiment the Two Regiments was the Buffs,Royal East Regiment ,and the Royal West Kent Regiment joining up with each other to make just one Regiment.
  It was to take place on the parade square at Ross Barracks at 11am on the 1st of March 1961.
  "As we both know Matcham you have not done your army basic training and there is not the time to send you back to Canterbury to do it so you are going to have some rife training and marching on a one to one base because you have to be on that parade,you are the last of the buffs because of your age so you will be the last of the Buffs and the first of the Queens own Buffs."
  I do not know if that was true or not but he told me so I have to take it I was.
