I was slightly worried about the idea of the programme prior to watching it but as you say it was so sensitively made with no hint of voyeurism at all. I ended up completely fascinated by all the various procedures and wonder what the mummified body will be like in a hundred years time.-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I try to be neutral and polite but it is hard and getting even more difficult at times.

- 14 November 2011 09:57136694Alan confirmed with me yesterday that the 'Alan Taylor' graffiti I found in the Drop Redoubt as above is none other than his father! His service number matches exactly. Alan told me he was in the Royal Engineers and did a lot of work on the railway guns early in the war.
How about that? Amazing.
Alan - do you have a photo of him in uniform? We could use it for our displays and guided walks as we have done with three or four other soldiers we have found photos of. - 14 November 2011 16:03136760Phil when i got home i looked at his service No again Dads was 2016177 and it looks like this one is 2016137 sorry phil looks like i jumped the gun until i can get it confirmed with army service records I will have to say it was not him. sorry Phil but i must check again but he was stationed there i will let you know when i hear back from records.
