Why do they always hold these things in the quietest part of town and without as far as I know advance notice.
Personally I would prefer to see those police walking around the town or set up in supermarket carparks.

I suspect that not telling people in advance might to protect the Deputy Chief Constable from a highly dissatisfied public who would have taken the chance to berate him.

Went through Market Square a while back but didn't bother approaching the DCC. What can he say other than the usual stuff "I'm hear to listen", "zero tolerance", "the public have a right to (fill in the rest)" then he will be off to another town tomorrow to spout the same guff.

Curiouser and curiouser it transpires that most of our district councillors only found out about this today on social media despite it being a DDC event.

Apparently DDC put out a statement saying they were unable to publicise the event because of ongoing" enforcement activities". I've given this some thought and have absolutely no idea what this means.

Paul, maybe they forgot to 'enforce' someone to tell everyone about this, it is not the sort of thing that gets arranged overnight.

DDC are more secretive then the Masons. I went to a Scrutiny at the Ivory Towers in Nov 2017.. still waiting for then to contact me to help with parking where I live.. local councillor still on their case..

Shame it happened during the week when most people are working. Missed opportunity again by DCC.

'About 50 people from a range of agencies massed into Dover town centre yesterday to focus on problems in the area'.
On the plus side if each of them bought a Mars bar and a coffee it must have doubled the turnover for High Street shops.....................
