As you have read in the locals today about a true Dover Legend. They have done a very good write up about him.He was a a great mate of mine we go back to the 1970s we was working on the same milk round it started off as my round but Horace would take over on my days off ,he always had a smile on his face and a good word about every one and he loved Dover.I first done a milk round after I left the D,E,W in 1970 and was waiting to join the railway at Ashford as a welder so I went as a milkman at the CO.OP and in the following years Horace joined me and took over my round when I left .I then went back to being a milkman for a few months after I came back from working in Germany meeting up again with Horace he was still on my old round ,after a few weeks I was off again welding with Mackeens then H&B Marine. I was working on PO ships and Sealink. And it was when I was working on the PO ships that I came across my old mate again Horace he was working for PO as a training officer so we ended up again working with each other. And when I was on the Town council we would spend time talking about the times we had working with each other. I could write pages about him ,he will be missed by all of us and I still think of the times when he worked in Stuffs in London rd always helping out with a smile.I am thinking of him and his family at this very sad time. .
