To clarify for anyone new to the area he was our Labour MP 1997-2010 rather than making the heady heights of PM.
When Gwyn was working on the ferries many years ago his nickname was Prosser the Tosser which was rhyming slang.

Uninteresting fact:
as 'gwyn' is Welsh for 'white', and 'Prosser' is the anglicised Welsh 'ap Rosser', i.e. 'son of Roger', then 'Gwyn Prosser' is 'Roger's white boy'.

As Gwyn lives in River you may see him from time to time.I sat next to,him in the councilChamber for a few years.Glorious voice wonderful to listen to him .when debates were in full swing.
