Well just when you think youve heard it all, up pops the next miserable piece of scamming. Julie Kirkbride, she of the faintly patronising air, with a husband(Andrew Mackay) who has just announced he is stepping down following a lynch type meeting with his constituents, well it has now emerged that our dear Julie who used to be on Question TIme a lot preaching to the rest of us about how we are going wrong...is paying a sister for parliamentary work and she lives 141 miles away from Parliament as the crow flies.
You might remember, although its true fatigue is beginning to play a part...she claimed for one home, her husband claimed for the second home..what a scam, in effect they were together claiming for both residences which is strictly against the spirit of the rules and probably and presumably illegal, yet she is still there. Now this latest bit about her far away sister is the pits, but perhaps weve reached the pits already.
Julie is hanging on by her fingernails. Well lets face it, would you want to give up. Good salary, easy life, prestige, and you can claim for absolutely everything you want at any time...oooooh I fancy 17 silk cushions myself this morning..and perhaps a rubber duck.
