    Harry - you are of course right.

    There must be a big clean-up first, so a clean slate can be established for those elected, when an election is called.

    That said it must be done very swiftly, no long drawn out referrals to committees for consultation to delay action - get on and do it, perhaps on the lines that DC is dealing with Conservative MPs through his scrutiny committee. The MPs who have not met DC's standards should repay what is considered to be excessive and then must submit themselves to their local Parties to explain themselves and if the Parties are not convinced be subject to de-selction.

    Do it quickly and dont wait for the Commons to catch up with its rules, have a tight timescale to finish it by the end of the summer and only then give the UK the election it needs in the Autumn.
