Has anyone had trouble with the above browser today.? I downloaded an update this morning and had a lot of trouble with it like freezing etc.. To get rid of the update I used a restore point from yesterday and it crashed on me.
No matter what I do I cannot get it back. Any ideas anyone ?.

I don't use firefox myself Alec. I gave up on IE ages ago and now use chrome which is nearly perfect except for how it deals with favourites (bookmarks). Can't help you on this one but it may well be worth un and reinstalling it.
One tip - copy your bookmarks folder and post it to your email address so that you don't lose your favourite websites. That way wherever you go you have them to hand. There's nothing worse, other than campaigning for a windfarm to be built in your area, than losing all your favourites. It's like losing a close relative, well maybe not. Losing a close relative is far easier to deal with.

I use Firefox and find it AOK. Not that that is going to get us anywhere here.
I take it you have switched it off and on again Alec?
I get updates every day or two and (touch wood) everything has been fine.
You are right about the favourites Philip...the site log-in memory too might (now) give me night terrors.

I also use Chrome and keep a list of my favourites in a small notebook.
Sorry Alec I am hopeless when anything goes wrong and have to call in the family. If nobody can help on here the chap in the computer shop next to the Age Concern shop was helpful with a problem I had and was very friendly.

I use Firefox and not had any problems. You can try uninstalling it and then reinstalling. It should still pick up your old profile so you won't lose anything. You could also try creating a new profile in case your existing one has been corrupted in some way. Follow instructions here:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows.
Regarding favorites, with firefox you can sync your bookmarks between computers wherever they are. Completely automatic once you've set it up and works really well.

I use Firefox doing all bits of Doverforum, front of house and back, not had any trouble with it at all. For some reason its a cleaner fresher looking frontpage with it and much better uploading of various sized pictures etc. I will make Colin's link live there above so you might try that Alec. Good luck.
ps: Tip for all...to make a link LIVE just click the URL BOX in the SMILEYS and type between the two lil boxes that appear in your posting box...and bobs yer uncle.

Thanks for the URL tip. Didn't realise I had to do that.

IE, Chrome, Firefox are all much the same and down to preference, all prone to glitches on different machines, a new update will be ok for the majority but may screw up a few.
Uninstall and then re-install is the first action.
Personally I stick to IE and use the free Microsoft Essentials. Adding other browsers is not always the best option and can cause conflicts on older machines.

Thanks to everyone for their help, I have got it sorted now and it is up and running again. Thanks to PhilipP for the tip about bookmarks, I have followed his advice.
I used Chrome when it first came out and was very happy with it until the picture dropped down the screen and to the right. I couldn't get any info. from them about righting the fault so I dumped it.
