    Whereabouts are you moving from?

It is a great place all in, has its problems like everywhere else.
Generally you'll find Dovorians a friendly and helpful lot. They can be quite vocal in their critiques though.
It has an absolute abundance of fascinating historic buildings, sites and history, sadly under utilised and under promoted, also has some excellent online sources of information.

Good luck in finding somewhere and keep asking for advice and tips, you'll always get an answer here.

A Scot via London for the past three decades, need to chill out a bit, be closer to the countryside, fed up with the nonsense of London, getting too old for it, don't want to be in Scotland (too poor/too tough/too politically divided - yes more than England!), and have found Dover to be actually really a decent place so far. I don't mind immigrants, I don't mind people with an opinion, but can't suffer fools.....but you find them everywhere!

Have been on Dover Historian, it's a great resource. A distant relative is named on the Dover Wikipedia page, don't want to say who on a public forum, but we have a bit of a link to the town already.

Will check out the roads you mentioned. Thanks for help
