Thanks to all for advice and for the useful link. It is amazing as you say, Paul, that so many companies cannot be informed on-line of change of address, for example pensions, etc.
The heating in our flat went off again at 8 pm last night, and we woke to a freezing cold flat (2 degrees!). It took him-who-thinks-he-gets-obeyed nearly an hour to bleed the radiator in the hallway thus allowing some hot water through. Thanks Alexander, I have informed the Chemist, but as for Specsavers, after my last run-in with them their correspondence can languish in the real-life equivalent of cyberspace as long as it likes.
I suppose this was not a good time to have to go into hospital to have the fistula for dialysis formed - it has left me with a gyppy right arm which has to be operated on again on 19th April. So I cannot get the curtains down, pack or carry heavy bags, walk very well (usually use right hand for stick or crutch). Oh dear, such a shame someone else will have to do all this for me. Oh, and please, anyone who knows us, no more meerkats for the love of God!!!
