    I would like to know how the business of local government is really conducted. This town needs shaking up from top to bottom.- out of its world of red tape, silly ceremonies, tortuous planning laws and general inertia so that people who want to really get things done can get things done.

    The economic model on which Dover's future is based - building thousands of homes to buy in unwanted populations from London on the promise that shops will open up to serve the new customers - is pitiful. Has it come to this?
