Ah now..I dont need too much prompting. The mere mention of motorbikes, any excuse and here I am with the pictures..again.
The motorbike above always attracted attention as it looked as if it was straight out of a 1950's hollywood movie. Here we are above visiting the lifeboat station four or five years back. Below shows the same bike resting in Sandwich after a ride through the sleepy hollows of Kent with none other than than that oul rogue himself Phil West. Phil posing there on his Honda. He was showing me rural Kent via motorcycle..down sleepy lanes and cosy nooks we went, down deeper and deeper into darkest Kent. I would have never found my own way out of the inner mangled backwoods again, so relied heavily on Phil. Every time I see that haunted movie Sleepy Hollow I think of this trip with Phil....brrrrr!!
Strange eerie feeling down them deep dark wooded lanes..and that was in the daylight !!
Keith not just the training. The bikes themselves are very expensive now. A Honda Goldwing is near as dammit £25,000 pounds, yes all the zeros are in the right place. Motorbikes used to be a cheaper alternative to cars, utilitarian transport vehicles for the masses, now they are considered toys and expensive ones at that. A whole range of cars are cheaper now..it used to be the other way round.
Good luck to your grandson Terry. It will bring him lots of fun..we all started out on dem 'hairdryers'
PS: Phil is a member here..where have yer been Phil!!??
