Yet nothing was done, what is the matter with all these official bodies that they allow such a tragic avoidable death to happen. Is it a misguided policy of not interfering or does it boil down to yet again they do not communicate enough with each other.

we will then get a statement along the lines of safeguards being put in place etc etc.
then we get another tragedy where various agencies sit on their hands.

I remember the days when your Health visitor woud call round to your house to find out why you had missed a clinic session, just to check if everything was ok and offer help if you needed it. That, of course was in the good old days when people came before profit.

health visits
truant officers making sure you went to school(checked up if you didnt)
police that had powers to clip you round the ear
teachers able to punish unruly pupils
parents able to disipline there children
oh those were the days,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

It is a very tragic case,
it still baffles me how anyone can allow an innocent child to die
more so the mother allowing it to happen.
