 - My ward enters the charts at no. 22 not surprising as I have been burgled, mugged assaulted, rogered and even murdered the once but I made a full recovery. http://www.courier.co.uk/8203-revealed-the-25-most-dangerous-places-to-live-in-kent/story-29590105-detail/story.html

 - Does Maxton, Elms Vale & Priory include the station? Fare evasion is recorded as a crime so that will have bumped the numbers up... - "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today." - James Dean

 - The report does not say anything about Fare evasion so has nothing to do with the report

 - Do you actually understand how the crime statistics are put together?
Do you know what is meant by a recorded crime?

 - Yes I do and as I said it had nothing t do with the above report.Being Mugged, Burgled, Assaueted, and murdered, that is the make up of the report, not paying your train fare does not make any of it more dangerous to live there but the rest do.It is yourself that needs look at the report again. - Sorry I left out the major one drugs.

 - I believe fare evasion is not a recordable crime and British transport police figures are compiled separately and not by geography. So fairly sure they won't be included in the figures. - howard mcsweeney1 likes this - Arte et Marte

 - I think on this occasion Vic is correct. The crimes recorded might put one off living in an area fare ovasion is not to be condoned but no where as serious as the ones listed by Vic.The British Transport Police deal with this.

 - Except too often at Dover it is Kent Police that are called and deal with it along with many other incidents at the station,

The exact wording of the newspaper report is "The figures detail recorded crime between January and May this year, counted by Kent Police and published by the Home Office." there is no link to the Home Office Report or any definition of CRIMES provided in the news report you are all talking about, So these numbers most likely include all recordable crime, which includes shoplifting, car theft, criminal damage etc.

 - Excellent article I really don't consider name calling a hate crime, I would much rather someone was verbally offensive rather than offering to beat me up. Some sections of the media tried to stir things up and visited the Polish cultural centre and their view was that a few people had been offensive but the vast majority were very supportive.

 - Meanwhile on a week when we remember the tragic death of Mark Duggan, resulting in the 'community' quite reasonably trashing the 'hood, we should not overlook the statistics behind the #BlackKnivesMatter protests? -
The bastards (plod) kwould appear to be responsible for a disproportionate death rate in white people. Something should be done? I think I might go for a lie down. Possibly blocking a major transport route!
